I know that most of you don't want to talk about how quickly Christmas is approaching and the new year will be here before you know it. . .and I'm sure you don't want to even think about your New Year's Resolutions! So I apologize ahead of time for this post, because that is exactly what I'm going to do.
I resolve to GET FIT!
The other day I stepped on the scale in our bathroom, I was shocked to realized just how much I weighed. Right after high school (which was almost four years ago) I weighed 135 and I was seeing this disgusting little red arm pointing right at the 200 mark! I know a lot of people would credit it to me being happy in my marriage, or (my mother's favorite because she wants grandkids) blame my birth control. Truth is, it's my own fault. I eat junk, and I never do anything that could even jokingly be called exercise! So my first resolution is the dreaded "Going on a diet" resolution that so many people make at the beginning of the year. I don't resolve to a strict diet or vigorous kill-yourself-doing-it workout routine in all my free time (which is a lot until after February), but I do resolve to get more active and eat healthier.
I'm teaming up with my friend Samantha to meet this resolution and our goal is to lose at least 50 pounds. We are working on meal plans and workout routines/plans now to be prepared to start on January 1st! If this is one of your resolutions you can join our "fitness team" and follow our Pinterest board for healthy tips and ideas! -----> Get FIT! Pinterest Board
I resolve to get ORGANIZED!
My next resolution is to get our finances and bills organized! I don't know about any of you but our bills are so unorganized! We get them, and they either lay on the kitchen table or go in the top drawer of our dresser. I have no idea what's what anymore! There's old bills mixed with the new ones and all sorts of crazy mess going on. So I am making a "Home Management Binder". That way I can keep everything in one place. (I will share the final product with printable pages to make your own binder in another post in January)
I resolve to BE POSITIVE!
Okay, so I'm normally a pretty positive person but I did find this idea somewhere on the internet and fell in love. You make a jar for positive events that happen in your life throughout the year. When something good happens you write it down and through it in your "Positive Jar". When you have a bad day you pull out this jar and reflect on all the positive things that has happened. (I think it would be neat for everyone in your house to keep a "Positive Jar" and at the end of the year you all read them at midnight for your New Year's Eve party/tradition!
I wanna know your resolutions or ideas for New Year's. If you have fitness ideas I wanna hear those too! Leave me a comment below or send your ideas to me in the "Contacting Wonderland" section of this blog.
